Your Risky Business SOS software can manage organizational hazards, even if they are not associated with a Procedure. Any user that has permission to log into the Risky Business SOS software, except the Substance Only user, can create a generic hazard and propose possible controls or resolutions. These hazards are then assessed by an Assessor user or the Safety Officer

A new Hazard can be created by all users of the System. That is, they can declare any risks that they perceive in the workplace. By default the Hazard is automatically assigned to the Assessor(s) or the Safety Officer of the user's group for corrective action.

Each Hazard goes through the steps outlined below during its use in an organization.

  1. Hazard Creation, by anyone but a Substance Only user

  2. Suggest a control or resolution for the Hazard, by anyone but a Substance Only user

  3. Assign corrective tasks to a user to follow up with, by a Safety Officer or Assessor

  4. Assess Hazard, by a Safety Officer or Assessor

  5. Approve control or resolution of Hazard, by a Safety Officer or Assessor

  6. Optionally include Approved Hazards in a Procedure

  7. Hazard Review and demotion to "Not Approved" status by Assessor, restart at step 2

Each Hazard that is created will include the following information.

Hazard Assessment information is available only to Safety Officers and Assessors. As a Hazard is managed, different versions of it are recorded for later review using the Version management system as discussed in the section called “Version Viewer”. Information on updating existing Hazards can be found in the section called “Hazard Update”.
